The 005 incorporates innovative technology designed to reinvent what trail running super shoe performance should feel like.
An upper constructed entirely from open-mesh Bio-Dyneems® that provides both unparalleled breathability and quick-dry capability. The most advanced midsole in trail running that is comprised of Arnitel® (TPEE), providing the most significant lightness, speed, and energy return (+80% resiliency) of any performance trail runner on the market today. The first outsole ever to use the proprietary and exclusive Vibram® Megagrip® Elite sole plate with 4mm lugs. No other shoe on the planet has this. Engineered for multiple race days.
LACES: The laces are 4mm instead of 5mm to reduce weight. The laces are made with Dyneema®, providing higher abrasion resistance and more stretch and are 4x as strong as a standard lace.
COLLAR: Bigger pods at the collar area for a more tight collar fit and to reduce debris from coming in.
TONGUE: The tongue material is a smooth microsuede that molds the foot and is detailed with perforation to reduce heat.
UPPER MATERIAL: An open mesh Bio-Dyneema® and recycled upper are impossibly strong and featherlight. The weave pattern allows for maximum breathability and rapid water drainage.
SOLE PLATE: A brand new norda full-length one piece soleplate design featuring the world’s first release of Vibram® Mega Grip Elite rubber. This is a race day compound, which is the grippiest and lightest formulation ever created by Vibram®. The increased traction of the Mega Grip Elite allows for varying lug heights, which accommodate seamless transitions between technical trails and fire roads.
MIDSOLE: The 005 features an entirely pure Arnitel® (TPEE) midsole unlike any shoe ever before. This allows for the 005 to be incredibly lightweight and responsive while remaining highly durable. While most supershoes are engineered for race day, the 005 is engineered for race days
THE NORDA FIT LOCK SYSTEM: The 005 has a proprietary fit lock system detailed for race day. The heel collar is designed with pods for increased foot lockdown, comfort, and reduced debris entry. The tongue is a smooth, perforated microsuede that molds to the foot and allows for heat to escape during high-intensity running. This fit lock system is finished off with a new interior foot binding technology, which is engaged via the laces and ensures unwavering stability.
