It's headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria, Germany, and stands as the largest sportswear manufacturer in Europe. Adidas was founded in 1949 by Adolf "Adi" Dassler, after a split from a previous company he co-founded with his brother Rudolf (who went on to establish Puma).
